Ken Domash on Country Music News International Radio Show!

November 16th interviewed by Big Al Weekley!

Ken Domash: A Journey from Magic to Music

Ken Domash’s story is a testament to the unexpected paths life can take. Unlike many musicians who grew up immersed in music, Ken’s early years were filled with a diverse range of interests. From the martial arts prowess of Bruce Lee to the illusionary world of magic, Ken’s passions were as varied as they were intense.

Yet, it was a seemingly ordinary event—a wedding—that ignited the spark of music within him. A simple request to sing an Elvis song led to a profound realization. The music, always present in his life, was waiting to be discovered.

With newfound determination, Ken embarked on his musical journey. Armed with a guitar and a heart full of raw talent, he began crafting his own songs, pouring his life experiences into every note and lyric. His music, a reflection of his unique journey, resonated with audiences and critics alike.

Ken’s story is a reminder that our passions can evolve over time. The unexpected turns and twists in life can lead us to discover hidden talents and fulfill our true potential. As he shares his music with the world, Ken invites us to embrace the power of music and let it enrich our lives

THE COUNTRY NOTE

OCTOBER 4, 2023

“Your girl’s giving ultimatums… Your boss is on you about your work… Is this relationship real? Where are you going to be in a year with your career…?! “I’m gonna have to drink about that”… A fun play on words that says it all!” – Ken Domash

It’s amazing how what you are destined to pursue in life directs your path, even when you were never familiar with what the thing was in the first place.  Unlike most musicians, independent country artist Ken Domash grew up without music in his life, however he was pulled towards the arts via drawing, karate, magic and even break dancing. But it wasn’t until he attended a wedding and was asked by the groom’s mother to sing a song that his path became clear. Not having a go-to karaoke pick, he chose none other than Elvis which lead his requester to say “you should sing” and the fire was lit. Years of self-taught guitar and songwriting led him to his debut “Countrified” in 2010 to where he is today, with his current single “If I Was A Beer” hitting #40 on the Music Row Country Breakout Chart last month and his latest release “DRINK ABOUT THAT” set to hit radio later this month.  Today, Domash is premiering the track’s music video exclusively with The Country Note.

“DRINK ABOUT THAT” is intended to be a rocker,” says Domash.  “The guitar riffs and the heavy bass just make you want to have a good time. That’s what we were going for on the entire album. Well, there are some breaks to have some serious songs on the album. The next release is actual a Christmas song. A blinker is needed for that turn in the road.”

A play on the words think and drink, “DRINK ABOUT THAT” is a song you’d turn to when you are having a bad day, week, month, even year – whether its your job, your significant other, or any other issue – and just vent it out with a bunch of friends and have a great time.  The video drills that point home, and then some. “The music video gives the listeners a little more of the song… It’s what the song implies but doesn’t exactly say,” explains Domash. “It all comes around to having a good time really.”

“When you stop and “drink about that”, it all comes down to being surrounded by great people!” continues Domash. “We had a great director, great producer, great actors, and great crew. We all had fun. We tried not to “over-drink it” and just have a good time. Hopefully, the fun comes through on the camera and everyone has as much fun watching the video as we had making it.”

“DRINK ABOUT THAT” will be included on Domash’s upcoming Welcome To My Rodeo album set for release in 2024. An album that Domash is very excited to get out to his fans, it was also a project that came about in a different way than most.  “The album was created a lot differently than any other album we’ve made. It was made from basement studio to basement studio instead of at a big recording studio. I must admit that I was not comfortable with this at first. I need the energy in the room with the players. So, we got back together and worked out some of the sound together in studio. All this extra effort and blend of methods made for some good pounding stuff. I love it! And appreciate everybody on this album and their patience and brilliance.”

Ken Domash didn’t even think about music as a career until he was in his forties.

Growing up Domash wanted to do magic shows and Karate. Then at age 41, he got asked to sing at a wedding. A lady came up to him and said, “You should sing.”

He recalled, “It just was like God talking to me. So. I went and got a guitar and learned to play.”

Since then, he has released several fun singles like “Drink About That” and “If I Was a Beer” and more thoughtful songs like “Snow Angels.”

Now the singer/songwriter has released “Imagining” as his newest single. It is a bit more serious than his drinking songs, but still light-hearted as his younger self imagines what could have been.

The thing that I find so endearing about Domash is that he is a self-made artist. He doesn’t have a musical background. Nobody showed him how to write a song. He just does it, and it comes naturally. You are going to want to keep up with Ken Domash
